A Journey Through Time: Hot Dub Time Machine’s Biggest Show Ever
When Tom Loud – the mastermind behind Hot Dub Time Machine – took over the legendary Hordern Pavilion for his largest headline show to date, the stakes for the visual production were sky-high. In a show where every beat is tied to a specific frame of video history, WOOHAH partnered with Live Nation to deliver a high-performance, low-latency visual architecture.
For the “Best. Party. Ever,” we engineered a solution that prioritized both scale and speed:
- Massive Multi-Screen Configuration: We deployed multiple ROE CB5 LED backdrops, creating a layered and immersive visual stage design. The CB5 panels delivered the punch and clarity needed to showcase decades of music video history to a capacity crowd at the Hordern.
- Low-Latency Video Infrastructure: In a Hot Dub set, timing is everything. We engineered a specialised FOH-to-stage video signal path designed for ultra-low latency. This ensured that the music and the visuals remained in perfect “frame-sync,” allowing the artist to perform with total confidence.
- High-Capacity Rigging: To accommodate the multi-screen layout within the Hordern’s unique architecture, we provided a robust rigging solution. Our team ensured that every screen was safely flown to maximise impact while maintaining the clean, high-production aesthetic of a major Live Nation date.
- Elite Technical Execution: Our technicians managed the complex signal routing and hardware performance throughout the night, ensuring that the “Time Machine” never missed a beat during its journey from the 1950s to the present day.
Congratulations to Hot Dub Time Machine and Live Nation on a record-breaking night. We’re proud to provide the technical mastery that keeps the world’s first time-traveling dance party in perfect sync.
