The New Wave: Laneway Festival 2026 at Flemington Racecourse
For the 2026 Melbourne edition, the challenge was scale and synchronization. WOOHAH engineered a massive visual network that spanned the entire racecourse, providing the “Technical Mastery” needed to unite three distinct stage environments under one seamless production banner.
Our “Multi-Stage Festival” solution included:
- Massive LED Infrastructure: We deployed a comprehensive ROE CB5 LED suite across all three stages. This included high-impact Upstage Walls, IMAG Screens, and site-wide Delay Screens, ensuring that even the largest crowds at the main stage had a front-row view of global stars like Stormzy and Raye.
- Pro-Grade Sony Broadcast Chains: To capture the festival’s high-energy performances, we provided elite camera packages featuring Sony Camera Chains and high-magnification Box Lenses. Managed by our CCU Control package, we maintained “studio-grade” image quality across the entire site, regardless of the changing lighting conditions.
- Mission-Critical Switching & Management: We utilized Ross Carbonite Ultra 2m/e switching alongside the Barco E2 screen management system. This allowed for complex, multi-input management and zero-latency switching, providing the flexibility needed for the diverse visual styles of acts ranging from Beabadoobee to HorsegiirL.
- Site-Wide Low-Latency Infrastructure: We engineered a robust FOH Video Infrastructure, providing high-bandwidth fiber connections across the Flemington site. This ensured that delay screens were perfectly synchronized with the stage audio, maintaining an immersive experience for the 30,000-strong crowd.
- Integrated Comms Package: To ensure a flawless flow between stage managers, directors, and technical teams across three stages, we supplied a professional Comms Package, keeping the entire production heartbeat in perfect sync.
- Expert Festival Crew: Our Technicians managed the end-to-end deployment and site-wide signal management, providing the stability and rapid-response technical support required for a high-velocity, 10-hour festival day.
