Transparent Innovation: The Stockland Awards at Machine Hall
For the 2025 Stockland Innovation Awards, the production design moved beyond the stage to encompass the entire architectural volume of Machine Hall. WOOHAH engineered a sophisticated, layered technical ecosystem that blurred the lines between the physical venue and the digital content, creating a seamless, high-end experience for Stockland’s most innovative minds.
Our “Technical Mastery” on this complex build included:
- Stunning Floor-to-Ceiling Transparent LED: We installed a floor to ceiling ROE Vanish V8T transparent screen as the room’s visual anchor. This allowed the raw, industrial character of Machine Hall to remain visible while “floating” holographic content in mid-air, creating a sense of depth and transparency that traditional screens cannot match.
- Floating High-Resolution Centerpiece: Suspended above the stage, we deployed a ROE 2mm LED screen. This “floating” high-definition surface was dedicated to pin-sharp content playback, ensuring that award categories, nominee reels, and winner announcements were delivered with cinematic clarity.
- Immersive Building Projection: To truly activate the space, we executed Building Projection Mapping, treating the internal surfaces of Machine Hall as a dynamic extension of the stage. This synchronised the entire room’s atmosphere with the on-screen action.
- Synchronised Environmental Mapping: We engineered a Lighting Package that included the pixel-mapping of table decorations across the entire venue. Using our Pixera Media Servers, we ensured that every award win triggered a coordinated “ripple” of light from the stage through to every guest table.
- Engineering Against the Odds: Machine Hall is an incredible but technically demanding venue with significant structural limitations. We designed a Complex Rigging Solution that safely navigated these constraints, allowing for a heavy, multi-layered install that looked effortless.
- Integrated Technical Direction: Our Operators and Technicians managed the intricate interplay between projection, dual-layer LED, and mapped lighting, providing the flawless execution that a high-stakes corporate gala demands.
