Cinematic Rock at Scale: Sam Fender 2025 Australian Tour
When Sam Fender brings his wall of sound to the Southern Hemisphere, the visuals need to be just as powerful. For the 2025 tour, WOOHAH engineered a massive, festival-ready video solution that combined a towering LED presence with a sophisticated, multi-angle broadcast chain. This wasn’t just a screen – it was a high-definition window into the heart of the performance.
Our comprehensive touring solution for Live Nation included:
- Massive Unified LED Canvas: We deployed high-output ROE CB5 LED screens for both the upstage wall and the giant IMAGs. Known for its incredible brightness and reliability in outdoor festival environments, the CB5 ensured that Sam’s cinematic content and live feeds remained vivid even under the most intense stage lighting.
- 13-Camera “Director’s Cut” System: To capture the full scale of the band and the crowd’s energy, we supplied an elite 13-camera system with full CCU control. This massive array allowed for every possible angle—from sweeping wide shots of the arena to intimate, high-magnification captures of Sam’s performance using professional Box Lenses.
- High-End Switching Architecture: At the heart of the tour was our Ross Carbonite Ultra 2M/E touring PPU. This allowed our Camera Direction team to manage a complex, multi-layered live mix, ensuring that the transitions and effects were as rhythmic and punchy as the music itself.
- National & Festival Logistics: Designed for the rigors of a national tour and the fast changeovers of major festivals, our Tour-Ready Rigging Solution and Project Management team ensured that the 13-camera ecosystem remained rock-solid and consistent in every city.
- Elite Touring Crew: Our dedicated Operators and Technicians functioned as a specialised broadcast unit, providing the “Technical Mastery” required to manage one of the largest touring camera counts in the country.
Congratulations to Sam Fender and the team at Live Nation on an incredible run. We are proud to be the technical partner that brings world-class rock and roll to life on the big screen.
