Sun-Soaked Grooves: Ocean Alley ‘Love Balloon’ Tour at Catani Gardens
To kick off Ocean Alley’s biggest headline tour to date, WOOHAH engineered a high-impact visual environment that transitioned seamlessly from the blistering afternoon heat into a cinematic sunset finale. Our “Total Broadcast” solution provided the scale and technical precision required for a landmark festival-style event in one of Melbourne’s most iconic beachside parks.
Our technical delivery for Face To Face Touring included:
- High-Definition Visual Anchor: We deployed a large-scale ROE CB5 LED upstage wall. This served as the primary canvas for the tour’s vibrant, 70s-inspired “Love Balloon” visuals, providing a bright, high-contrast surface that maintained its “pop” even under the direct glare of the Melbourne summer sun.
- Cinematic Arena IMAGs: To flank the stage, we supplied large-scale ROE CB5 LED IMAG screens. These provided the massive crowd with “magazine-sharp” close-ups of the band’s intricate musicianship, ensuring a front-row experience from every corner of the gardens.
- Pro-Grade Broadcast Chain: We provided a Full SMPTE Camera Package equipped with high-magnification Box Lenses and PTZ remote cameras. This allowed our directors to capture everything from the sweeping energy of the pit to the subtle, soulful expressions of Baden Donegal, with complete CCU control for perfect colour matching.
- Mission-Critical Switching: We utilised ROSS Carbonite switching to manage the live broadcast. This provided the low-latency, high-reliability platform needed to mix multi-angle live feeds with the band’s curated playback content, creating a seamless “concert film” aesthetic on the big screens.
- Expert Site Infrastructure: Our team designed a robust Rigging Solution and Full Video Infrastructure tailored for an outdoor park environment. We ensured all systems were safely secured and optimised for the high-wind and high-heat conditions of the St Kilda foreshore.
- Specialized Touring Crew: Our Operators and Technicians managed the complex signal flow for four distinct high-profile acts, providing the “Technical Mastery” required for a flawless 8-hour festival-style show.
