Engineering the Glow: Nike After Dark at Darling Harbour

When Nike takes over Darling Harbour for the Nike After Dark running festival, the atmosphere needs to be electric, sleek, and unmistakably premium. Partnering with Pont3, WOOHAH was tasked with providing LED Screens for the high-impact visual course that was as much a piece of architecture as it was a technical feat.

To meet the high-end aesthetic of the Nike brand, we pushed the boundaries of traditional LED deployment:

  • Architectural LED Arches: The centerpiece of the event featured complex LED Screen arches built using our ROE CB5 panels. The structural strength of the CB5 allowed for a custom, low-profile, and slimline rigging solution – delivering a “minimalist” look that hid the engineering and kept the focus on the vibrant Nike content.
  • Precision Synchronization: Powered by our Media Servers, we delivered perfectly synced content across multiple screen locations throughout the festival site, ensuring a unified brand experience for every runner.
  • The “Show-Ready” Sprint: Working in a high-traffic public space like Darling Harbour requires military-grade timing. Our team managed a tight turnaround, deploying a complex, venue-wide infrastructure to be show-ready the moment the sun went down.
  • Robust Video Infrastructure: We engineered a site-wide signal network to ensure that from the starting line to the final arch, the visual performance was flawless and high-brightness.
  • Elite Technical Team: Our technicians and operators managed the delicate balance of complex rigging and high-stakes playback, proving that we can deliver “clean” corporate aesthetics even in the middle of a massive outdoor festival.

A huge thank you to the Pont3 team and Nike for trusting us with such a visionary project. We’re proud to provide the tech that keeps Sydney’s brightest events running.
