Cinematic Shadows: Nessa Barrett 2025 Australian Tour
The 2025 Nessa Barrett tour demanded a visual canvas that felt organic, moody, and deeply immersive. To achieve this, WOOHAH moved away from the digital sharpness of LED and engineered a large-scale Upstage Projection Solution. This allowed for a “film-grain” texture and soft-focus transitions that enhanced the emotional weight of the performance, creating a breathtaking, panoramic backdrop in every city.
Our “Atmospheric Touring” solution for Frontier Touring included:
- High-Output Upstage Projection: We deployed a professional FOH Projection Solution aimed at a custom-rigged Upstage Cyclorama (Cyc) surface. This setup allowed for massive, edge-to-edge visuals that felt “painted” onto the back of the stage, providing a sophisticated alternative to traditional video walls.
- Unified Digital Infrastructure: We engineered the Full Video Infrastructure site-wide, providing our team with complete, low-latency control at Front of House. This ensured that the complex, atmospheric video playback was perfectly synchronised with the live musical cues and lighting states.
- Specialised Structural Rigging: Our Rigging Solutions were designed to support the unique tensioning requirements of a large-scale Cyc wall and the precision placement of high-lumen projectors at FOH. We ensured that the visual alignment remained pixel-perfect across both the Sydney and Melbourne venues.
- Technical Mastery on Tour: Our Technicians managed the delicate calibration and geometry correction required for a touring projection setup, ensuring a seamless, high-definition “wash” that maintained its impact regardless of the venue’s house lighting or throw distance.
