The 2025 James Blunt tour required a technical “sleight of hand” – large-scale visual impact that didn’t feel heavy or intrusive. By utilising a transparent upstage canvas and a high-fidelity 4K broadcast chain, WOOHAH created a window into the performance, allowing the music to take centre stage while providing a cinematic backdrop that breathed with the rhythm of the set.
Our elite touring solution for Destroy All Lines included:
- The Layered Stage Aesthetic: We deployed the ROE Vanish V8T as the primary upstage wall. This allowed lighting designers to blow through the screen from behind, creating a ghostly, ethereal depth that perfectly suited James’s more poignant ballads, while still providing a crisp surface for high-energy content.
- 4K Low-Latency Ecosystem: Timing is critical for a live broadcast. We engineered a full 4K Video Transport system around each venue, ensuring that the signal from the lens to the ROE CB5 IMAG screens was delivered with near-zero latency.
- Broadcast-Standard Switching: At the heart of the show was the Ross Carbonite Video Switcher. Known for its reliability in professional sports and news, this allowed our Camera Direction team to execute complex, multi-layered cuts and transitions with the precision of a live television special.
- Studio-Grade Camera Chain: We supplied a Full Camera System with CCU control and Box Lenses, ensuring perfect colour matching and exposure across all angles. Whether James was at the piano or the edge of the stage, the image remained “magazine-cover” sharp.
