When the world’s most iconic beauty brand ambassador arrived in Australia for the Charlotte Tilbury x MECCA Masterclass, the production standards were set to “flawless.” Transforming the historic Melbourne Town Hall into a high-tech beauty cathedral, WOOHAH provided full technical oversight to ensure every detail – from the glow on stage to the pixels on TikTok—was perfect.
This project required a blend of heritage venue navigation and cutting-edge social broadcast:
- Pioneering Rigging Solutions: To achieve the desired production scale within the restrictions of a heritage venue, we engineered bespoke rigging points never before utilised in Melbourne Town Hall. This allowed for a sophisticated overhead rig that respected the architecture while delivering a modern arena-style setup.
- Vertical Broadcast Mastery: In a move toward modern audience engagement, we delivered a full 4k Broadcast Solution in Portrait Mode. Specifically optimised for TikTok, this high-definition feed allowed the online audience to experience the masterclass in its native social format with zero loss in quality.
- High-Definition Visuals: We deployed multiple 2mm LED Screen backdrops to provide a crisp, vibrant canvas for product reveals and live close-ups, ensuring every attendee had a “front-row” view of the artistry.
- Studio-Grade Beauty Lighting: A makeup masterclass lives or dies by its lighting. We designed a specialised lighting rig that met the dual demands of a high-end broadcast and the specific colour-temperature requirements of a professional beauty demonstration, ensuring skin tones were captured with total accuracy.
- Dual-Audience Audio: We provided a seamless Audio Solution tailored for both the high-ceiling acoustics of the Town Hall and the digital clarity required for the live-streamed audience.
- End-to-End Production Oversight: From Full AV Project Management of the main stage to the various satellite activations, our team provided the “Technical Mastery” to ensure a cohesive, high-energy brand experience.
