Supersonic Visuals: The Inaugural Hypersonic Festival 2025
For the debut of Hypersonic, the stage design was anything but standard. To support a lineup that transitioned from the euphoric trance of Armin van Buuren to the dark, warehouse techno of Adam Beyer, the visual architecture needed to be as versatile as it was massive. WOOHAH engineered a bespoke LED and data solution that served as the digital nervous system for the entire Sydney festival.
Our technical contribution to this Symbiotic Events production included:
- Architectural LED Stage Design: We deployed multiple ROE CB5 LED screens configured to a unique, non-linear stage design. The high-brightness and fast refresh rates of the CB5 were essential for maintaining clarity amidst the rapid-fire strobe and laser environments typical of high-end electronic music festivals.
- Complex Structural Rigging: To bring the “Unique Stage Design” to life, we provided a custom Rigging Solution that supported unconventional screen placements and heavy overhead arrays. This allowed for an immersive, multi-dimensional look that broke the “flat wall” mold of traditional festivals.
- Low-Latency Multi-Feed Infrastructure: In an environment where the music is 140+ BPM, visual synchronisation is non-negotiable. We engineered a robust Video Infrastructure capable of routing multiple high-bandwidth feeds in any direction across the venue with near-zero latency, ensuring that every drop and transition was perfectly in sync with the live audio.
- High-Speed Technical Support: Our Technicians provided 24/7 on-site management, from the complex load-in of the custom rig to live-show support for the international VJs. We ensured that the “Technical Mastery” on stage never faltered, even during the most high-octane sets of the weekend.
